Established luxury travel company, who set the standard for luxury adventurous holidays are expanding their team in Cheltenham (hybrid working available). We are seeking a FIT (Fully Independent Traveller) Travel Consultant. The role involves designing and pricing creative luxury tailor-made travel programmes across Europe, using client briefs and consultation to create exceptional, operationally sound itineraries. The role is responsible for achieving sales, conversion, and margin targets while delivering outstanding experiences that exceed the expectations of guests, sales offices, and travel advisors, encouraging repeat business. Salary is negotiable/dependent on experience uncapped earnings potential and great working hours (Mon - Fri office hours, very occasional Saturdays) and extensive benefits! Working with a team of passionate and knowledgeable people, you'll go the extra mile to create memorable holidays, from booking Michelin-starred restaurants in remote locations and private tour of private palaces and museums, creating an unforgettable experience. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Create bespoke FIT itineraries for sales offices and travel advisors, ensuring feasibility and providing recommendations where required.
  • Meet agreed sales, conversion, margin, and turnaround targets.
  • Accurately cost and creatively design high-quality itineraries using the reservations system.
  • Negotiate competitive hotel and supplier rates to maximise value and margin.
  • Proactively follow up quotations to secure business and maximise conversions.
  • Research new products, destinations, and opportunities to drive sales growth.
  • Ensure itineraries are operationally viable and systems are accurate before handover to operations.
  • Review itinerary content, supplier information, and costings where required.
  • Support managers and operations teams in resolving issues and maintaining service quality.
  • Participate in training and share destination, product, and process knowledge.
  • Ensure client terms, deposits, payments, and commission-related financial documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate booking files and reservation records.
  • Provide emergency out-of-hours support on a rota basis and assist with general office duties.
  • Build strong relationships with global luxury travel advisors and internal teams to encourage repeat business and collaboration.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues across European locations as required.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A confident, positive attitude
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills. A second European language is advantageous
  • A Good level of geographical and general knowledge of Europe is advantageous
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel
  • A natural affinity for sales and (over) achieving goals
  • A real passion for travel
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • A willingness to develop relationships with clients
  • Good and effective time management
