I am looking for a strategic, hands-on, and data-driven Head of Social Media to join a growing team at a pivotal moment of innovation and brand growth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of our organic and paid social strategy - driving reach, engagement, and brand growth through data-led decision-making and best-in-class content. We're seeking someone with proven experience in scaling brand presence through platform-native strategies, deep knowledge of social algorithms, and a strong understanding of how to combine content, community, paid media, and influencer partnerships to build an engaged and loyal audience. This is a hands-on role with strategic impact - you'll shape the voice of the brand and create a lasting presence.
This is a full-time office-based in Chester where you will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm. A competitive salary of up to £50,000 for the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day: Content, Community & Execution
- Own and manage the social media calendar, ensuring consistent, high-quality content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook (and other platforms as needed).
- Plan, create, and publish platform-native content (short-form video, Reels, Stories, carousels, etc.) with a focus on entertainment, engagement, and brand alignment.
- Lead community management - engaging with followers, managing DMs/comments, and building two-way relationships with our audience.
- Collaborate with internal designers and creatives to develop on-brand assets and use in-app editing tools or Canva/Illustrator for quick-turnaround visuals.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand tone, values, and messaging.
Strategy, Growth & Performance
- Develop and implement a scalable organic and paid social strategy that drives brand awareness, follower growth, reach, and engagement.
- Understand and act on platform algorithms and content trends to maximise visibility and relevance. Lead regular performance reporting - tracking KPIs (reach, engagement, growth, conversions) and delivering actionable insights to refine future campaigns.
- Work closely with the Paid Social agency to build aligned campaigns, optimise paid performance, and integrate creative strategies across channels.
- Maintain and evolve social media playbooks and frameworks for content creation, scheduling, and reporting.
Influencer & Creator Strategy
- Build and lead an end-to-end influencer marketing strategy - from identification and outreach, to briefing, partnerships, and performance tracking.
- Develop long-term relationships with influencers and creators aligned with our brand voice and target audience.
- Source UGC and creator-led content to amplify reach, build trust, and diversify storytelling.
- Monitor influencer performance and ensure consistent delivery of value-aligned, high-impact collaborations.
Leadership & Team Development
- Line manage and mentor the Social Media Executives - supporting their development and aligning execution with strategy.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, creative, PR, and digital teams to ensure social media is integrated across all brand and commercial efforts.
- Act as the internal voice of social - championing the channel's value and educating stakeholders on performance, trends, and opportunities.
The Person: Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior social media role with direct experience growing brand channels (especially TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).
- Proven track record of building and scaling influencer and creator partnerships that drive brand reach, engagement, and authenticity.
- Expert-level understanding of social platforms, particularly TikTok and Instagram-including algorithm mechanics, content performance factors, and best practices.
- Strong grasp of paid social strategy and performance marketing; experience working with paid media agencies or managing budgets is a plus.
- Skilled in community building, content planning, storytelling, and writing engaging copy across channels.
- Confident in interpreting analytics and using data to guide content strategy and report on ROI.
- Experience managing social tools and dashboards such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Sendible, Meta Business Suite, and TikTok Ads Manager.
- Adept at managing multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and campaigns simultaneously.
- A qualification in social media or digital marketing is preferred.
