My client a leading, award-winning Travel Company are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for contracting, supplier relationships and the overall profitability development of one key product stream - Touring. Based in Manchester this role requires a dynamic and knowledgeable product manager with proven expertise and experience in delivering successful product development within a specialist scheduled tour operator/travel company. To be successful in this role you'll need to have strong worldwide travel knowledge, have experience working with high value commercial agreements demonstrating proven negotiation skills and will have prior experience of putting product fulfilment agreements to tender. JOB DESCRIPTION:
-Reporting to the Head of Department you will ensure that all sales and margin opportunities are maximised through negotiation of all ground product rates
-Liaising with multiple sources, obtaining exclusive added value offers and achieving agreed contribution targets.
-Management of core buying strategy for a given region.
-Sourcing and purchasing of all ground products and services at market leading rates in accordance with health and safety and operational requirements.
-Responsible for the increase of sales to your given destination through.
-Develop an in depth knowledge of the product range and ensure to take every opportunity to grow in-house sales and margins
-Price management of product within the in-house booking system to deliver volume while maximising returns.
-Ensure that all contracts are 100% accurate, loaded on CMS at all times and are delivered to agreed timescales.
-Destination market analysis and trends
-You'll have responsibility for driving and developing the DMC programme for the company across key areas of the world including Africa, SE Asia, South America, India, USA and Europe
-Ensuring that our partners touring products meet the strategic aims and high standard of service for the business.
-Responsible for all DMC partners globally owning the negotiation of commercial and product relationships, agreements and ensuring the best rates are obtained.
- You'll conduct travel trends and wider market research to identify new areas of opportunity thus maximising sales to our customers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
*Previous experience of product management and a demonstrated record of successful product development within a specialist scheduled tour operator.
*Strong worldwide travel knowledge.
*Proven negotiation skills demonstrated through prior negotiation of high value commercial agreements.
*Experience of putting product fulfilment agreements to tender.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Strong commercial, analytical and numeracy ability.
*Proven track record of being able to prioritise workload whilst remaining reactive to the needs of the business.
*Ability to multi-task and assist with the co-ordination of several projects simultaneously.
