Do you know the Scottish Hotel Industry better than most? Are you a charismatic individual, great at building relationships and using these to negotiate rates. A leading Destination Management Company are seeking someone from the Hotel Industry, who is perhaps looking to go in a new and exciting direction with an inbound tour operator. If you are a buyer or sales executive within Scotland's hotel industry this position as a hotel Sales Executive / Hotels Contracting Executive, has huge scope to grow into a management position with a company that are continuing to see huge growth and make a real impact on the Scottish DMC market. Salary is very much dependent on experience, in the region of £25k pa to £32k pa plus bonus and benefits but most importantly with massive career development opportunity! Ideally the candidate will be able to work hybrid in Edinburgh.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To build and maintain a great working relationship with our hotel and service suppliers.
- Find space at hotels at the best rates for tour series and facilitating the relationships between the hotels reservations/sales and your team
- Keep your hotels and services product knowledge updated via research, site visits and regular placing trips.
- Monitor and hold the relationships with coach suppliers, contracting best rates and space for series.
- Keep track of cancellation deadlines for Bedbanks, fulfilment of allocations and nesting space contracted, evaluating risks on overbookings with regular discussions also with the GMs and operations managers/supervisors.
- Insert all seasonal space in the operations system with great attention to detail, following all procedures and process accordingly to minimise errors.
- Working through cancellation reports for Bedbanks based on deadlines by contracts signed, using the reports from the operations software.
- Ability to work under pressure, different source markets have different requirements, different categories, different meal providers, coach suppliers, keeping a calm level-headed demeanor.
- Working with passion with different teams in the most collaborative way, communication being a key aspect, both in writing and phone.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Key to success in this role is already being emersed in the Scottish Hotel Industry, having relationships and knowing the market. You will have experience in a hotel sales functions, understanding of revenue, sales, seasonality, groups business. Excellent knowledge of Scotland as a destination and its tourism products, ideally Ireland too. You will be an outgoing, friendly personality who loves building relationships with people and enjoys social interaction. You will be willing to travel around Scotland and Ireland visiting hotels on planned business schedules for the year.
THE PACKAGE:
Salary is negotiable and will be based upon current salary, expectations, and experience. Additionally there are 22 days holidays (plus your birthday off) rising to 24. Private healthcare, medical insurance and additional bonus and benefits. The role will be office based 3 days and 2 days from home.
