Summary of job content:
- To represent the airline in a professional and knowledgeable way to travel trade partners and commercial companies (dedicated role)
- To increase revenue and market share on the airline route network
- To maintain current and secure new sales accounts
- To increase awareness of airline to the trade and public sectors
- To meet annual Targets
- Work effectively with the Airlines Country Manager
- Motivate and manage a small team of Reservations / Sales
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and increasing revenue and market share
- Maintaining regular contact with travel trade partners and commercial companies
- Visiting agents to present airline product information and training to front line staff
- Interpreting revenue statistics, data and providing statistical reports
- Identifying new sources of revenue from UK travel trade
- Recommend commercial terms / fares structure to win new business
- Reporting and reacting to market conditions
- Preparing regular sales activity reports
- Represent the airline at trade shows and exhibitions
- Participate in Corporate Working Group functions and meetings, if required
- Maintaining and increasing revenue and market share to meet annual targets
- Provide pricing and fare analysis for the client in the UK market.
- Benchmark competitor activity in the market, suggest alterations and feedback to the Airlines/Head of Sales
- Support Management team in Marketing and all sales-related functions
Core Skills Required:
Education:
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Good standard of numeric skills
- Good standard of Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-years' experience in a senior sales role
- Travel industry account management
- Knowledge of airline GDS and distribution channels
- Knowledge of airline fare structures
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint programmes
- Knowledge of general airline procedures
- Ability to interpret fare and ticketing rules
- Negotiating skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Good knowledge of MIDT, E-Smash & BSP
- Understanding of agencies changing distribution systems
- Good understanding of Revenue Management & Dashboard reports
Personal qualities:
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work under pressure & unsupervised
- Ability to prioritise workflows
- Supervise Reservations and one Sales executive
- Good time management
- Ability to communicate at all levels including the Airlines HQ
- Flexibility
- Excellent attention to detail
Salary:
Up to £42,000 DOE
Benefits: 21 days of holidays + 8 days of bank holidays p.a.; extra 1 day after 2 full years of service with extra day per year afterwards; capped at 25 days.

This is a fully office based role, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
