This friendly and successful independent travel management company are seeking an experienced Amadeus-focused operations manager to join their business travel division and really drive their corporate travel team forward.

The main objectives of the role will be to manage the business travel consultants, ensuring their performance, well-being and development. you will provide a first point of contact for specific ad hoc business travel clients and remain the primary contact for those clients.

Main Responsibilities:

Management tasks:

* Acting as the leader of the Travel Consultants and managing them on a daily basis;
* Carrying out regular 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports;
* Monitoring holiday absence and sickness absence to ensure team tasks are fulfilled during any such absences;
* Responsible for recruitment to the Travel team;
* Responsible for the induction and training of new Travel team members;
* Ensuring that the team has the appropriate tools and information to fulfil their roles;
* Acting as the first point of contact for any team issues that may arise;
* Acting as a mentor and coach to the team members and taking a lead in their career development and training;
* Carrying out annual appraisals with team members and ensuring that the training needs are fulfilled;
* Provision of regular reports on the performance of the Travel team to senior management.
* Take ownership of supplier relations

Corporate tasks:

* Provision of high-quality Account Management services to designated corporate clients
* Administration of the full cycle of all travel bookings for designated and ad hoc corporate clients
* Book and facilitate all aspects of the client's travel, such as transfers, car hire, etc. in line with agreed itinerary and client requirements;
* Issuing, re-issuing and performing re-calculations of international and domestic airfares in relation to designated client bookings
* Assisting with and co-ordinating ancillary client requests as required
* Ensure prompt pro-active communication with client at all stages of the project;
* Maintain flexible availability to ensure effective communication with the client and suppliers to ensure successful fulfilment of the client brief.
* Pro-actively seek and maintain market and travel industry knowledge to a high and comprehensive level.
* Proactively seek and maintain knowledge regarding products available;
* Ensuring CRM is kept up to date
* Ensure that invoices are raised in a timely manner using the Dolphin software system
* Undertake regular training to ensure comprehensive knowledge of Amadeus and other appropriate software

Knowledge and skills required:

* Previous experience of working in a similar position
* Good IT skills with the ability to quickly learn new software
* Strong GDS/CRS flight systems experience in Amadeus
* First class customer service skills
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Product knowledge

* Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload in a professional and calm manner
* Managerial experience
* A high level of professionalism and customer care at all times
* A confident approach and attention to detail is paramount.

* Good commercial negotiating skills and understanding of rates and mark up
