My client is a successful tour operator based in Cambridgeshire who are seeking a Communications Executive to take responsibility for maintaining the daily running of the company's press department, you will be experienced in PR (preferably with existing media contacts) and you will be fully switched on to the world of media relations! You will be expected to have a high standard of copywriting skills and for this fast paced role organisation is the key! JOB DESCRIPTION:
*Press office function - maintaining the daily running of the company's press department
*Proactively responding to press requests and pitching stories to key media contacts
*Writing weekly press releases using newsworthy angles and distributing to top media contacts
*Structuring monthly PR plans to incorporate relevant events and campaign activity
*Organising press trips for top travel media journalists where applicable
*Building relationships with key media contacts and raising the company's profile accordingly
*Proactively maintaining a consistent volume of coverage within the travel trade media and in local regional press
*Liaising with suppliers and businesses within the travel trade
*Writing and coordinating weekly travel features for local publications
*Writing application forms for relevant travel industry awards
*Managing and updating all social media platforms for the Group's multiple brands (Facebook & Twitter)

EXPERINCE REQUIRED:
*A minimum of one year's previous experience in a communications role, preferably in a media-facing position
*Excellent communications skills and the ability to think on their feet
*A love for working with the media and a passion for generating positive results
*Flawless spelling, grammar and punctuation skills as well as the ability to write copy quickly and efficiently to a high standard (essential)
*A firm understanding of public relations and of what makes a good PR story
*The ability to multi-task and maintain a high standard of organisation
*A sense of responsibility and excellent people skills
*An interest in travel and ideally some travel experience.
*Ideally an understanding of managing social media channels for a brand or business
