X Factor star Danyl Johnson will join 20 travel agents on a fam trip to Barbados next year after becoming the first name to be announced in the line-up for this year’s Travel Weekly Northern Ball.
The singer, who was mobbed by fans after performing at Travel Weekly’s Globe Travel Awards in January, said he needed little persuading to renew his acquaintance with the travel industry.
He will be hosted at the event by the Barbados Tourism Authority, which will be rewarding its top sellers with a VIP fam to Barbados in May 2011.
“The Globe Travel Awards gave me a taste of how the industry loves to party, and I’m really pleased to be teaming up with my friends at Travel Weekly and the Barbados Tourism Authority to put on a great show at the Northern Ball.
“The plans for the night sound incredible, and hopefully some of the people I’ll be partying with will also be joining me on what sounds like an amazing fam trip to Barbados.”
Petra Roach, vice-president of the Barbados Tourism Authority, said: “We are really pleased to be hosting Danyl at the Northern Ball and are sure that agents will be dying to join him on our agent fam trip next May – all you have to do is get booking.”
The Northern Ball takes place at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on September 14. The event will celebrate Travel Weekly’s 40th anniversary and guests will be encouraged to attend in fancy dress themed on the past four decades.
