About 75 staff and guests at a Scottish hotel have been treated for nausea and vomiting caused by a stomach bug, the National Health Service (NHS) confirmed on Tuesday.
Doctors found traces of novovirus infection among the 58 guests and staff of the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow since the outbreak erupted last Wednesday, the NHS said.
Two guests were admitted to hospital on Sunday, but have since been discharged. Another person affected by the bug was still in the hotel on Tuesday.
Novovirus infection is a common viral illness. It is more contagious than influenza, and can be transmitted via food, air or contaminated surfaces.
Authorities have launched an investigation into how the outbreak occurred at the five-star hotel. The hotel said it had undertaken measures to stop the bug from spreading.
