Thomas Cook and Tui signed up to a three-year partnership with international clean water charity Just a Drop at this year’s ITT conference.

Both pledged to donate £25,000 a year for three years to support Just a Drop’s sustainable water and sanitation projects worldwide.

The money will be used to provide clean, accessible water to the communities that need it the most across the world.

Thomas Cook chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa said:  "We are thrilled to be involved with Just a Drop – the work it does for children and communities is wonderful.

“Everyone at Thomas Cook is delighted that we can support Just a Drop and we look forward to becoming very involved with all its lifesaving – and life improving – projects."

Managing director of Tui UK and Ireland, Dermot Blastland, said: “We are delighted to be helping out on such a valuable cause.

“Just a Drop is working on some very important projects, such as looking at the long-term solution for the damage caused by the hurricane on Haiti’s water systems.

Just a Drop founder Fiona Jeffery said: “We are so grateful to receive such generous support from two of the travel industry’s key players.

“It is so important for Just a Drop to receive this kind of long-term commitment to ensure that we can continue to plan and implement life-saving projects in the most poverty-stricken parts of the world.”
