The Advantage conference is to be held in Madrid in September 2011.

Speaking at the close of this year’s conference in Lucerne, Switzerland, sales and marketing director Colin O’Neill told delegates the consortia was delighted to be working with Madrid.

The timing of the annual event has been moved to September for 2011.

Chief executive John McEwan said it was important to choose destinations which were not too far away and which appealed to both the consortium’s business and leisure members.

Augustin Garcia, the Spanish Tourist Office’s head of promotions, reinforced McEwan’s assertion that Madrid is a popular destination both for holidaymakers and business travellers.
