Huge Disruption At London Airports

Flight cancellations are causing disruption at a number of London airports after thick fog affects travel for a second day.

Heathrow airport has reported 37 inbound and 23 outbound cancellations today and is advising passengers to contact airlines to see if their flight is operating.
London City was also experiencing disruption with cancellations, diversions and restricted movement of 10 aircraft per hour.

The fog is said to be clearing and Heathrow is now operating with 'no restrictions'  but flights are already backlogged after hundreds of cancellations yesterday due to the weather.
All stranded passengers had been re-booked and were put up in hotel accommodation overnight if necessary, said a Heathrow spokesman.

Some domestic passengers were being taken to their destination by coach.
There were also severe delays at Gatwick on Sunday but services had been resumed today.
