Cruise Line Confirms World Cup Screenings

9 Mar 10 - 3:05PM  | Cruise News
Every England match in this summer’s World Cup is to be screened on board Thomson and Island Cruises’ ships.

Thomson Dream, Thomson Celebration, Thomson Spirit, Thomson Destiny and the Island Escape will show the games live on big screens in specially allocated areas of each ship.

Selected Brazil and Spain games will also be shown.

Special deals on a selection of treatments at the on board spas will be available while the games from South Africa are being shown.

The two lines’ managing director David Selby said: “The fact that Thomson Cruises and Island Cruises are showing the World Cup games while at sea shouldn’t detract from the great cruise experience passengers will enjoy this summer.

“It’s important to remember that the games will only take up a couple of hours a day once or twice a week on a seven day itinerary.

“This means that the rest of the time our passengers can enjoy all that the cruise ships have to offer, such as world-class entertainment or a quality food and beverage offering, as well as the chance to spend time in one of the many fantastic ports of call.”
