My client is a very successful niche travel company who specialise in meaningful travel, this includes group volunteering experiences overseas. In this role you will be effectively managing a portfolio of group volunteer trips through providing an outstanding level of customer service and developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with group leaders. You will be assisting the Volunteer Programmes Manager and Director with all organisational processes associated with recruiting and managing group trips whilst also establishing the company's reputation as an outstanding travel provider by ensuring that our trips run efficiently, in liaison with colleagues.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
*Co-ordination of a portfolio of group volunteer trips, from the point of booking to their return to the UK.
*Managing all trips through effective use of the company's CRM system, scheduling tasks and emails as appropriate, allocating accommodation and volunteer work, and ensuring all trip details are correct and up to date.
*Building strong professional relationships with group leaders and maintaining clear lines of communication at all times.
*Liaising with our airline partners to make group flight bookings within set budgets.
*Liaising with our in-country staff to ensure arrangements are confirmed prior to a group's travel date.
*Travelling to meet with groups and deliver pre-departure meetings, staying overnight when required.
*Preparing and circulating all necessary documentation ahead of travel.
*Providing pre-departure information, travel itineraries, visa application support and fundraising support to volunteers.
*Responding effectively to enquiries from booked volunteers and actively promoting the online support system.
*Providing pre-launch support to the Volunteer Programmes Manager and Director, including the creation of trip proposals and launch handouts using InDesign.
*Travelling to Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar, when required, to aid with the co-ordination of group trips.
EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*Highly organised with experience of planning and coordinating group activities.
*Delivery of outstanding customer service and care.
*Excellent attention to detail, whilst maintaining an overview of the broader goals.
*Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with a range of individuals from different organisations (schools/colleges, charity groups, flight providers etc).
*Friendly and approachable manner.
*Proactive team player who can quickly adapt to change.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of presenting to groups of people.
*Ability to multi-task, remaining calm under pressure.
*Highly efficient with the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
DESIRABLE:
*Experience working within the education, travel or international development sectors
*Experience managing volunteers
*Experience of volunteering internationally, preferably in Africa
THE PACKAGE:
The successful candidate can expect a salary in the region of £20000 - £23000 which is dependent on experience, there is also a company pension scheme, flexible working hours and potential opportunities to travel to overseas destinations.
