A very rare and unique opportunity has arisen in the Swindon area for a Travel industry Head Of Purchasing, my client is very keen to find an experienced Head Of Purchasing for this brand new position based in their Swindon based head office. You will be working for a fast growing, global travel company and you will predominantly manage the worldwide procurement of travel products with focus being to develop the depth and breadth of a sustainable ground portfolio for the business whilst owning the strategic relationships with the key suppliers to deliver an amazing global proposition. This very exciting new role will reward the successful candidate a basic salary within the region of £70000 - £80000 (DOE) plus some great travel perks! THE JOB: *Lead the annual briefing and contracting timetable with the worldwide Product teams. *Own the strategic partnerships with key suppliers worldwide. Ensuring we have a joint vision supporting the future growth of the company. *Ensuring the Supplier partnerships ensuring both product and market leading rates with the contractual agreements that help minimise competitor comparisons. *Lead the Contracting teams with strong and dynamic leadership, developing their supplier relationship, market research and negotiating skills. *Quarterly Strategic Meetings with all key suppliers (face to face) and ensuring strategic plans are on track and delivered to agreed deadlines. *Develop the contracting teams to maintain and develop and nurture new opportunities and negotiate best rate agreements. *Ensure travel timetables are in place and a structure exists to research and develop new initiatives. *Ensure regular alignment with General Managers / Directors in all locations ensuring the regional development plans are in place for all markets *Own the contracting of 'Global' Customer Events. *Negotiated commercial agreements of Global Overrides and Kickbacks from all key suppliers (incl bed Banks) *Negotiate marketing contributions agreements with tourist boards (pre agreed with the Board) *Ensure the business has access to destination arrival statistics, passenger, room night (incl Year on Year) and seek strategic initiatives in order to drive incremental market share. *Support the development of the strategy to improve the Customer Journey. *Understand the of pricing strategy, margins and volumes associated with contracted product *Ensure Directors are fully briefed on any contractual risks (including and financial risks from committed contracts) *Create a Contracting plan (delivered by Contractors) to support the Up-Sell Strategy (post booking / pre departure sales) *Ensuring strong and robust department processes are in place for contract filing, version controls, liability risk reviews and deadline achievement. THE PACKAGE: The successful candidate will be rewarded with an amazing salary in the region of £70000 - £80000 dependent on experience plus you will receive some fantastic travel industry and company benefits!
