PURPOSE OF ROLE
⦁To work as member of the reservation team to achieve & exceed an agreed annual booking margin target
⦁Build-up a loyal clientele by managing all the clients / travel agents requirements and exceeding expectations in respect of service and attention to detail
⦁Responsible for reservations of brochure product and assisting colleagues with bookings
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily duties:
⦁To process all reservation enquiries from travel agents and direct clients in a timely and efficient manner
⦁To handle incoming telephone calls promptly, efficiently and effectively
⦁To process flight reservations in Amadeus, using negotiated rates as the first priority
⦁Negotiating deals with hotels on an ad-hoc basis over and above contracted rates and tactical offers in order to secure bookings
⦁Process own bookings. i.e. create booking in automated system, responsible for creating quotes, special requests etc
⦁Quality control checking of colleagues bookings
⦁To shadow and cover for colleagues during holidays & absence
⦁To investigate and provide a written report within 24 hours of receiving any complaints or queries on own bookings. Report to be passed to Head of Sales for further action
Miscellaneous Duties
⦁Sales activity - to assist with promotional mailings, Travel Agent sales calls, and represent the company at travel trade & direct consumer events as required
⦁To escort agents' educational visits and to assist in planning these trips
⦁To keep abreast of industry and product developments in particular for the Caribbean, Indian Ocean & Middle East
⦁General office duties as agreed with Head of Sales
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS REQUIRED
⦁Hungry sales person with proven track record of delivering results
⦁Specialist knowledge of the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Middle East & Europe
⦁Comprehensive knowledge of deluxe hotels in the above destinations
⦁Minimum 5 years Retail / Tour operating experience
⦁Must have commercial acumen with attention to top & bottom line
⦁Ability to create FIT's by multi-purchasing to create 1 travel solution for client
⦁Must be able to converse with demanding - high spend clientele and agents
⦁Articulate, well organised and present the product to the highest of standards
⦁Working knowledge of an Airline CRS
