Well known reputable tour operator is seeking a product manager to join their busy team.
The main purpose of this role is to work closely with the Head of Product to develop, plan and deliver a range of profitable quality products to meet the strategic aims of the business. Negotiate the very best commercial termS to preserve and improve the company's market position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
⦁Product strategy, annual planning and development, in conjunction with the Head of Product
⦁Specification, direction and management of all air and ground supplier contracts to deliver the annual plan
⦁Negotiate strong commercial terms with all suppliers and build excellent and lasting relationships
⦁Proactively source exclusive special offers where possible and implement tactical opportunities through strong supplier working relationships.
⦁Work with Head of Marketing to identify opportunities and agree marketing plans and activities with key suppliers
⦁Pagination of all brochures, and proof reading & sign off on pages once produced.
⦁Regular analysis of given destinations sales performance, trends, to shape future activities and purchasing strategy.
⦁Management and motivation of Product Executive
⦁Training of consultants in the brochure and product offering
⦁Regularly review competitor activity.
⦁Review and implement systems, processes and technologies to ensure on going improvement in day to day efficiency and time management.
⦁As a key member of the senior management team you will be required to take on additional responsibilities relating to the running of the business
⦁New Product Development - assist in looking at future commercial opportunities
⦁To represent the company at travel industry events when required
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS REQUIRED
⦁Sound product knowledge of luxury Indian Ocean & Arabia is preferable. Experience in Europe / Caribbean and or other long-haul luxury markets would be an advantage.
⦁Proven experience gained as a Product Manager within a tour operator, ideally with a specialist, luxury brand or product
⦁Commercially astute with strong negotiation and relationship management skills
⦁Highly numerate and analytical
⦁Strong organisational skills with an excellent eye for detail
⦁Good all-round understanding of latest technologies with good understanding of all elements of e-commerce
⦁Proven people management ability
⦁Good knowledge of crisis management procedures
⦁Literate, numerate, analytical and creative with excellent computer skills
⦁Excellent budgetary and forecasting skills
PREFERABLE EXPERIENCE
⦁Minimum 3 years Product/Contracting experience in a Premium/Luxury Tour Operator environment or similar

⦁A self-starter, highly motivated and innovative, with plenty of energy and initiative
⦁Strong customer service ethic
