This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join an established travel company in south Essex. As an Operations Manager you will take full responsibility of ensuring all resources are in place and passengers have a fantastic experience from the point of travel to return. This position requires excellent communication skills in person, over the telephone and by email along with a knowledge of travel industry. The successful candidate must be able to drive and own a full UK license as this position will occasionally require you to travel in the UK.

Job Description:

*Take full responsibility and liaise with agents to ensure all requirements are in place
*Ensure all terminals are laid out to a specific plan ensuring the passenger experience is seemless.
*Attend each vessels' start of the season call ensuring they have all the necessary equipment for check in and the season, including banners, carpets, teardrop flags, and any other signage.
*To proactively think of ways to enhance the customer experience through all areas of the customer journey
*Ensure all information regarding UK ports is correct and updated regularly for the Sales Team and Customer Services.
*Ensuring the company website is up to date at all times.
*Ensuring all coach transfers are booked in a timely manner and all the information is correct including pricing.
*Ensuring coach manifests are administered correctly and information passed to the correct department for each turnaround.
*Sending final manifests and all relevant information to the vessels to ensure the ships are provided with the necessary information ahead of sailing.
*To communicate and liaise with all heads of departments, ship and land based, to ensure all changes, amendments and necessary information is advised and actioned.
*To attend various meetings around the UK to promote the company brand and build relationships will all port staff.
*To hold annual appraisals with each member of staff, reviewing their progress and encouraging personal development by setting targets.

Experience Required:

*The ideal candidate will have experience as an Operations Manager within a tour operator
*Pervious management experience within the travel industry is essential
*Previous experience of working in a customer focused 24/7 operations environment or onboard a cruise ship in a face to face guest services role is desirable.
*Excellent communication skills in person, over the telephone and by email
*The ability to travel to various port locations is essential.
*This will also include travelling at very short notice when a situation occurs.
*The successful candidate must be able to drive and own a full UK license
