Do you have experience in negotiating and contracting rates and availabilities with hotels and ground handlers? My client, one of the leading wholesale tour operator is seeking a Contracting Executive to join their expanding team in London. As a Contracting Executive this position will offer an introduction to hotel contracting, therefore the successful applicant would ideally have previous contracting experience or strong negotiation skills and be comfortable in developing and maintaining supplier relationships. Job Purpose: You would be involved not only in the day to day responsibility of finding and booking group space at suitable hotel accommodation according to the clients needs. Job Responsibilities: *Carefully analyse each request received by our sales offices and prioritise the workload according to deadlines *Select appropriate hotels according to sales requirements *Contact hotels and complete strong rates negotiation to guarantee competitiveness on the market and to gain an advantage on our competitors. This will involve usually negotiating rates below our contracted rates *Providing more than one hotel offer, to give our sales a competitive edge *Negotiate other conditions such as cancellation policy, rooms decrease, and payment conditions *Provide suitable hotel alternatives when all other options are either full or over budget *Negotiate rates, conditions and general arrangements of banqueting and conference facilities when required *Complete administration tasks such as inputting of rates, message distribution, fax distribution or any other task as and when required in the department Candidate Knowledge and Skills Required: *previous contracting experience or strong negotiation skills *Relevant experience in the Travel Industry dealing with Group Bookings and Hotels. *To act as a team Player in the Hotel Department, also co-ordinating work with sales and product. *Strong Organisational and Administrative Skills. *Ability to Multi-Task and Plan Daily, Weekly and Monthly Activity. *Professional and Pleasant Telephone Manner. *Good Geographical Knowledge of the UK and Europe a preference. *Computer Literate with Word and Excel Skills. * Attention to Detail a Must. *Fluency in Spanish or French would be an advantage Package: The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £23k - £25k and working hours of Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm Interested?
