This small but vert successful independent travel company is seeking an experienced flights consultant with excellent airline fares and GDS experience to join their busy VIP team, who look after the travel arrangements from high-level VIP clientele to budget travellers. Their preferred partner status to all major airlines allows them to offer excellent fare savings in all classes of travel as well as offering private aircraft charters, car hire, hotel reservations & the obtaining of visas.

We are currently looking for an experienced flight specialist to join a dynamic flights team who can maintain existing corporate accounts, facilitating all of their travel requirements, support the Managing Directors with private VIP clients and offer long-haul flight service to all clients, with the ability to sell business and first class.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
*Maintain current accounts, and help to build on new ones when necessary
*Arrange flight, hotel & car hire bookings for all our long-haul clients
*Assist the ticketing department
*Maximise on profits
*Knowledge of and ability to read contracts from different airlines
*Knowledge of different airline & class product
*Emergency standby (mobile provided) worked in rotation with colleagues
(extended hours on occasions may be required)

Specific Job Skills:
*Good communication skills and telephone manner
*Ability to understand and read airline contracts.
*Excellent native GDS experience essential, with experience in Amadeus being preferred.
*Experience in ticketing is a bonus.
*Long-haul knowledge essential
*Numerate and understands the principles of business and retail travel.
*Adept in the use of Amadeus and Outlook, knowledge of other Office products an advantage
*Commercially aware and competent with sales mark-up and profit margins

Work Pattern:
The position is based on a 37.5 hour working week - typically Monday to Friday 09:30-18:00 - plus the odd Saturday.
Flexibility will be required to cover busy times & events.

Salary: OTE £26,000-£28,000 DOE (Basic + Commission/Bonus)
